Chariot Races

I’m in the capital city of Rome .I  am on my way to the circus maximums  where there are chariot races. I am with Latin and he is one of the chariot racers. “So do you think you will win?’’  “yes I do. Replied Latin.
The people have filled the stands. The Emperor has stood up and now he has dropped the stating cloth. There off! Green is in the lead but Red is catching up. Oh no! Red just smashed green. I am going to talk with the vet Pythus. “Is the horse all right Pythus?” Pythus muttered “No, he isn’t.  He tore his ligament.” “ I will go talk with Red.” I said. “Red why did you smash green?’’  Red rebuffed “I got paid to do it.” “Do you know who paid you?” “Yes’, I do. There names are Victor and Felix.” “How much did they pay you.” Red whispered  they paid me 50 coins.”  I will go to the Armey. They will throw them in prison because they have paid you to smash Latin.”  “I suggest  you go talk to Latin, Red.  I’ll go talk to the vet Pythus.” “Pythus , do you think the horse will live?” “I asked  breathlessly.  “Yes. I only know that those two loved each other. That horse was a hero. To him.”       Pythus stuttered. It has been a busy day here in Rome and that is our story we look forward to bringing you more next time.

No More Food in Dacia

In the land of Dacia there is a drought that causes the crops not to grow. The people are enraged because they are hungry and can not feed themselves or their families. Some of the hungry people have begun to fight the Roman Army. Fights have started in the stadium and on the streets. Ten have been killed. The people are crying on the streets and coming into Floras temple. They are saying HELP us we do not have any food. They need food quick before more fights happen. As we end our report we beg for the emperor to send some food to the Dacia people. By Emily, Mckenna, Dean

Where are the Children Going?

These are sad times in our Roman homes. All our all kids are getting stolen! The men are leaving to go to war and our families are unprotected. We are getting raided by the Barbarians all the time and they are turning the kids into slaves! We are going nuts. The enemies were sited by the great well on the of Mars. We need help from Mars the god of war and Vista the goddess of homes and families. We have been making sacrifice. The women are sending letters to the emperor for help. Lets just hope they send more troops soon. By, Claire Ashley

The roman emperor.

This is Elizabeth reporting to you on how emperor Pythous became emperor. When he was a little boy he had a dream to one day become emperor, so he asked emperor Agustis the 4th if he could help for a day.   Emperor Agustis said,” I would be delighted to have you work with me for a day”.  Emperor Agustis liked having Pythous at his side so he        decided to let him stay.

Pythous loved working the job that he hoped to someday have.  But what he didn’t know was that the three senates did NOT like having a kid working at the curia or basilica.

One late night when everyone started to leave the three senates hid in the workroom, and when everyone was gone they snuck into the kitchen ware the cooks prepared the food, and switched the seasonings, and there labels for poison…  The next day the cooks made the food, the senates thought the food was going to the boy but it was actually going to the emperor. The emperor ate the food happily, and when he was done he went to his throne.

A  few hours later the  workers found the emperor dead.  The   senates were accused  for  poisoning the emperor so they had to fight lions, and they ended up dying, the boy became emperor, and he found four new senates. And that’s the real deal.

Not Enough Metal

The Roman Empire
Not Enough Metal

Today I saw a couple of legionaries' who had wooden swords. They didn't have metal swords because the miners are on strike. This has caused great depression among the soldiers. In addition to not having metal swords some soldiers have been forced to fight without javelins, fully finished shields, or even armor. Many have died because they don't have the right gear.

Another thing is that they don't have enough metal to complete their shoes. The shoes are  not getting finished  so they don't have any spikes on the bottom of them for traction. The legionaries are sliding on the gravel looking like monkeys on ice skates.

As we leave are report we hope that the miners stop their striking and the army will have more weapons to fight with.

My forth year.

What grade kinder threw third did you like best? I liked Mrs. Chambers’s class, and this is why. First, she took us to the park so we could draw birds and trees. One time I drew a red robin singing in a big red maple tree. The next reason is A.R time we got to read funny, funny book’s like Corduroy. Sometimes while reading I threw back my head opened my mouth and laughed out loud. Then we took a test on the books we read. Now you can see I had an awesome second grade class!

My third year in school

This is my 3rd year in school. I will tell you about my fantastic year so far. First what you want to know about is our field trips. My class went to the Salmon Festival. It was amazing. We had to study Salmon and what their lifecycle was. Also this year has been interesting because of my amazing teacher Mr.Grillo. Mr.Grillo tells my classmates about his exiting trips and what he does at home. He is an amazing teacher because he plans our field trips into are huge schedule. Now you know what I have done so far this year. I have gone on field trips, and spent time with my amazing teachers.

I enjoy school,do you?

I enjoy school, do you? Would you like to hear what my most memorable grade has been? It has been first grade. One of the reasons I loved first grade the most is because we had a lot of reading time. We had a huge selection of books. We got to read mysteries, fairytales, and loads of other exiting books. She used to read to us for at least 30 minutes, she even let the student of the day pick the book. I remember she would sit down in her fluffy brown chair, open the colorful cover of the book, than start reading to us. My second reason I loved first grade the most is because we had a wonderful teacher. One of the things about Ms. Birum is that she loves ice. Every day we would race to the classroom to se who got to get her ice. Wale we were in class she would munch the ice wale drinking a Pepsi. The last reason I enjoyed first grade was because Ms. Birum let us correct our math with color crayons. We got to draw purple smiley faces, yellow stars, orange dots, and loads of other fantastic designs. As one can see first grade was my most exiting year.

Letter Home

2-3-12 Dear Parents, We have had a fantastic week. To begin with we have started to learn about the Roman Empire. We have learned that they had lots of wars and they also had a government. In the government they had a leader called an emperor. Our class is going to be building a Roman city out of sugar cubes. If you can give a box or two of cubes we would appreciate it. Another thing we have been doing is working on becoming better writers. We have written about our favorite grade. We had to do all the steps of writing to complete the paper. After we thought we were done we are finding we had mistakes and we are rewriting again. As you can see we have been doing some awesome work. Sincerely, Your Third Grader
